Así lo puso hoy de manifiesto el Rector de IE Universidad, Santiago Iñiguez de Onzoño, durante la apertura de curso de esta universidad, el primer año académico desde que el IE presentara su nuevo modelo de universidad internacional el pasado mes de abril.

Socially Responsible Consulting Day is an opportunity to explore how the landscape of consulting has changed and will continue changing due to the increased pressures for transparency and accountability. This is especially important as 2008 celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Declaration of Human Rights and as governments, NGO watchdogs, and consumers increasingly call for improved labor, sourcing and environmental standards from corporations.

Through a panel discussion with consultants working in this field, individually directed workshops and a networking reception, you can offer insights related to this year's theme "Consulting and Social Responsibility: The Impact and Opportunities"

Registration for the event will open up on Monday, October 6^th.

Conferencia sobre Caso FEMSA y Estrategias para el Éxito, Ing José Antonio Fernández Carbajal

Estimados Alumnos,

Club de México tienen el honor de invitarlos a la Conferencia sobre Caso FEMSA y Estrategias para el Éxito que impartirá el Ing. José Antonio Fernández Carbajal, Chairman y CEO de Fomento Económico Mexicano (FEMSA), la compañía de bebidas más grande de América Latina, el próximo 9 de Octubre, a las 10:30 en el Aula Nueva de María de Molina 27. En dicha conferencia, el Ing. Fernández compartirá el caso de FEMSA y las estrategias para el éxito. FEMSA es una de las compañías importantes en México, cotiza en la Bolsa de Nueva York (NYSE) y en la Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV). Es el segundo embotellador del sistema Coca Cola más grande del mundo, siendo la más grande de México y de América Latina. Asimismo, es una de las dos cerveceras más grandes de México ha tenido un crecimiento único en cadenas comerciales con lo que se ha clasificado como la mayor cadena de tiendas de conveniencia en Americe Latina. Cuando se cumplen tres años de su fundación, ieOut &Friends sigue fiel a su compromiso y a su misión de ser una de las redes de referencia internacional para la difusión de las mejores prácticas de inclusión LGBT en las empresas. En su primera edición LGBT@WORK contó con representantes de grandes multinacionales que presentaron las mejores prácticas en Diversidad LGBT desarrolladas en el mundo.

Diversidad y Recursos Humanos

En su segunda edición, contamos con tres empresas, IBM, idealista.com y Citi, que compartirán su visión amplia de la Diversidad y de las herramientas de inclusión LGTB que están desarrollando en España. Son empresas que operan en entornos muy diversos y de diferentes tamaños porque la Diversidad no es sólo cosa de las grandes multinacionales.

Marketing, Comunicación y Producto

Por otro lado, y ahora que nos enfrentamos a duros momentos de crisis, muchas empresas buscarán expandirse en nuevos nichos de negocio y confundidas abordarán a la comunidad gay como un todo indiferenciado y a menudo con mensajes erróneos. En esta edición contaremos con Método Helmer y Community Marketing Inc. que nos hablará de la segmentación interna de este grupo. Finalmente, con Holeles Axel nos acercaremos al concepto "heterofriendly", un producto diseñado para Gays pero que no excluye. Case workshop, October 1st

The Consulting Club would like to invite you to our Case workshop, Weds Oct 1st, from 6 to 8pm @ P211. - Please arrive a little bit early so we may start on time. This is a workshop to practice cases. If you are truly serious about a career in consulting, then it is highly advisable to attend.

Be prepared & understand the cracking case frameworks/methodologies prior to coming, otherwise you will be at a disadvantage.. (If you do not know, ask a consulting-club registered member to provide you with the tools/files)

-2 cases will be distributed with a time limit of 30-45 minutes.

Our goal is to have a case workshop every week but we strongly suggest that you also work independently as much as possible. We understand that there may be several schedule conflicts so we'll try to arrange various dates to meet all the demand.

The acquisition of Movistar brand during 2004 gave Telefónica the opportunity to unify its presence in Latin America under a single master brand. This implied several changes not only in the company structure but also in the consumer communication. The speech will explain the measures taken to implement the new brand strategy and speak about the challenges and opportunities that arose along the process.

Jimena will show us the different elements of the launch campaign for the new brand and the results obtained with the unification.

Conference on Private Equity and Business Opportunities in Latin America

Club de México and the Emerging Markets Club have the honor of inviting you to a Private equity conference which will be given by Dr. Pedro Aspe Armella, Co-Chairman of Evercore Partners, a leading boutique investment bank in the USA.

The event will be held on October 7 at 17:00 hrs in Aula Magna (Maria de Molina 11).

Dr. Aspe will share his vast experience in private equity and will focus on Latin American countries, a relevant topic for students who want to pursue a finance career or anyone who is interested in business opportunities within the region. Students will have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Aspe at the end of the conference. The conference will be given in English and Dr. Aspe will be introduced by David Bach, Associate Dean of MBA Programs and Professor of Strategy and Economic Environment.

Pedro Aspe Armella biography:

Pedro Aspe, born in 1950, is co-Chairman of Evercore Partners, a leading boutique investment bank that is based in New York; he is also CEO of Protego, which is headquartered in Mexico City. Since 1996, Protego has advised on more than 200 transactions, including private equity placements, mergers & acquisitions, project financing and municipal bonds. In 2006, Protego merged with Evercore Partners. He holds a BA in Economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and a Ph.D in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Dr. Aspe has been a professor of Economics at ITAM and has held a number of positions with the Mexican government: Founder of INEGI (National Bureau of Statistics), Secretary of the Budget, and Secretary of the Ministry of Finance of Mexico from 1988-1994.

Dr. Aspe is a member of the Advisory Board of Stanford University's Institute of International Studies, is on the Visiting Committee of the Department of Economics of the MIT, and is a member of the Board of CIDE. He is a director of the McGraw Hill Companies, the Carnegie Corporation (New York), and Televisa (Mexico); he sits on the advisory board of Marvin & Palmer (Wilmington) and Endeavor (Mexico). He is the Chairman of the advisory board of MG Capital (Monterrey). Dr. Aspe has been the Chairman of Volaris in Mexico City since 2005.

The goal of this intensive program is helping students who

do not speak the language to communicate and interact as soon as possible with their classmates, but also, to be independent around Madrid! Accordingly, it is much more focused on speaking than in grammar.

Professors are very excited as they learn very fast!

The Consulting Club would like to invite you to our Case workshop, Thursday September 25th from 6 to 8pm. - Please arrive a little bit early so we may start on time. This is a workshop to practice cases. If you are truly serious about a career in consulting, then it is highly advisable to attend.

If possible, prior to the meeting, please create a group of 3. 1 person will be the practitioner, 1 person will be the interviewer and 1 person an observer. (2 people will also work). Be prepared & understand the cracking case frameworks/methodologies. (If you do not know, ask a consulting-club registered member to provide you with the tools/files - we will distribute the files during the workshop but waiting will put you at a disadvantage)

Ø 2 cases will be distributed with a time limit of 30-45 minutes.
